Kirriereoch Loch

General description

Kirriereoch is a small hill loch extending to some 16 acres.  The loch is fairly shallow with an average depth of 7 feet and has a good head of wild brown trout up to 1lb in weight although larger specimens are caught each season.  Fishing is bank only and both fly and bait fishing is allowed.

Parking:

The loch lies approximately 15 miles North of Newton Stewart. From Newton Stewart take the A714 North and after some 9 miles turn right at Bargrennan heading for Glentrool Village.  After passing Glentrool continue for approximately 6 miles and take thr turning onto an unmade road signposted Kirriereoch.  The loch lies on the right along the track and cars should be parked near the gate but not blockin access to the field.
