Fyntalloch Loch

General description

Fyntalloch adjoins Loch Ochiltree and is stocked with rainbow trout averaging 2.5lbs.  Fly and bait fishing is allowed over the whole loch.  Fishing is mainly from the bank and the wading is relatively easy.

Parking:

Fyntalloch Loch lies some 10 miles  North of Newton Stewart off the B7027.

Take the A714 heading North from Newton Stewart.  After approximately 2 miles turn left at Challoch church onto the B7027 towards Knowe village.  After some 6 miles keep left and pass though Knowe village.  Continue on the B7027 for a futher 2 miles and after passing a new mobile phone mast on the left there is a track on the right which leads to the loch.  At the end of the track there is a car park leaving a short walk to the loch.
