On 4 June 2023 we fished the McCarlie Cup at Loch Ochiltree in what can only be described as testing conditions.

Bright sun, very warm and virtually no wind ensured the anglers in attendance would need to work hard to get any fish.

13 anglers took part in the match with 24 fish being caught, the result is as follows;

1st – Calvin Steward – 9 fish for 17lb 10oz

2nd – Scott Costley – 6 fish for 11lb 7oz

3rd – David Nicholl – 2 fish for 7lb 1oz

Heaviest fish – David Nicholl – 4lb 9oz

Special mention to Tony Heron who acted superbly as chief verifier through a hectic 30 minutes as our 1st and 2nd placed anglers happened to find fish at the same time either side of him!
