Heb Cronnie Memorial 2024
On 19th May 2024, 24 anglers made their way to Harelaw Trout Fishery to fish the annual Heb Cronnie Memorial match.
It was very much a game of two halves, this morning, wall to wall, thick cold mist which brought more than its fair share of navigation issues!
Then wall to wall, roasting hot sunshine without a cloud in the sky for the afternoon!
Despite this, 45 fish were caught with the result as follows;
1st Place – Scott Costley – 5 fish for 5lb 15oz
2nd Place – Johnnie Johnstone – 4 fish for 4lb 10oz
3rd Place – Mark Da Prato – 3 fish for 4lb 10oz
(Johnnie caught his first fish 4 minutes before Mark, therefore pips him to second place!)
Heaviest fish – Iona Ambrose – 2lb 12oz
Special mention to Iona, her first time fly fishing from a boat, and first attendance at a match to land heaviest fish is a great effort – Well done!
