PREDATOR FISHING INFORMATION SESSION

On 26 October 2023, we are hosting an educational event in the upstairs function room at The Crown Hotel, Newton Stewart from 7pm onwards.
This event will be to address all things predator fishing, from set up, including fish handling and general welfare.
Experienced predator anglers will be in attendance to pass on their knowledge and let members see what set up they recommend for targeting specimen fish safely and effectively and how to deal with them when out the water.
We recommend any of our regular members who have opted to join the winter extension attend the event and see if there’s any guidance that can help improve fish handling, welfare and receive invaluable knowledge on how to successfully target big pike.
This event is open to all our members – not just predator members, we can all catch a pike when targeting trout or Salmon, so this session will pass on knowledge on how best to safely handle and release fish.
As an addition, we have a unique opportunity to purchase via auction, a Shimano 12ft 3lb TC rod paired with a Shimano bait runner LC big pit reel loaded with 80lb of Braid – a set up worth £360!
Thanks to our winter predator associate member Barry McHale for his generosity in donating the set up and to him and Andy Everett for supporting our education event by way of advice and time to pass on their knowledge.
**we are planning on holding a similar event aimed at river fishing and still water fishing prior to the start of the new season in March**
This event is free of charge to members, no requirement to book. We hope to see you all there!
